Automatic Knives for Sale — Every Type, Every Price

Automatic knives for sale: which type to buy

An automatic knife opens with a button or a slide instead of your thumb on the blade. There are two main designs. On an OTF knife the blade fires straight out the front of the handle. On a side-opening switchblade it swings out like a folding knife and locks. Side-openers start under $10 and OTF knives start around $13. Not sure which you want? Read side-opening vs OTF automatic knives.

OTF knives for sale (out the front knives)

OTF means out the front. Push the thumb slide forward and the blade shoots out of the tip. Most of our OTF knives cost $13 to $50, and damascus and G10 models run up to about $80. Buyers' picks include the Vector Slide blue damascus OTF, the ShockGrip Midline tactical OTF and the Shadowline G10 OTF. Shop all out the front knives.

Double action vs single action OTF knives

A double action OTF knife (also called dual action) fires the blade out and pulls it back in with the same switch. A single action OTF fires out with the switch, and you pull the blade back to reset it. Double action is easier to use and we stock far more of it. Popular double action knives for sale here: the Crimson Vector, the Stealth Vector quick-reset and the Road Heritage. For single action, see the Covert Skullstrike or the Shadow Weave.

Stilettos for sale

The stiletto is the classic Italian switchblade: a long, slim blade with a sharp point, a bolster or push-button release, and marble, wood or ivory-look handles. Ours run about 9 inches open and cost $16 to $23. Best sellers include the Showpiece Godfather, the Heritage Godfather push-button stiletto, the Silk-Trigger and the Midnight Highway. Switchblades for sale

"Switchblade" is the everyday word for any automatic knife, but it usually means a side-opener: press the button and the blade swings out. They are the cheapest automatics to buy. See every switchblade under $25, the Shadow Claw automatic karambit, or shop all automatic knives.

Mini and California-legal automatic knives

Want something for your keys or a small pocket? Mini OTFs like the Shadowline mini start around $13. We also carry automatics with short blades sold as California-legal, like the Kitty Pop mini OTF and the Stealth Compliance. More in mini switchblades for sale.

Are automatic knives legal?

It depends on your state and sometimes your city. Texas has allowed switchblades since September 1, 2013. Some states still restrict them. Orders are age-verified (21 and over) and ship from Richardson, Texas, usually the next business day. This is not legal advice, so read the state-by-state automatic knife law guide and our shipping and age rules before you order. New to automatics? Start with how to buy an automatic knife.
